Six men with addresses in Edgeworthstown are due before Longford District court this morning in connection with an alleged assault at a mosque in August 2015.
Last month Judge Seamus Hughes recused himself from hearing any more details of the case after the court was told mediation efforts in a dispute between Muslims at the mosque in the county town had failed.
A previous court sitting was told that Gardai believe tensions remain in the mosque arising from the alleged incident almost two years ago and they have witnessed aggression between a small minority of Muslims.
Six men; a father and his two sons together with three brothers, are due before a special judge from outside of the district this morning in a case which is expected to take two days.
