Shannonside GP urges vaccination to help prevent deadly ‘Aussie flu’

A Shannonside GP is urging people in at-risk groups to pay particular attention to their health as the so-called’ Aussie flu’ circulates across the country.

The HSE has confirmed that ten people are believed to have died from the symptoms of influenza which is being described as highly contagious.

The elderly, as well as those with heart or underlying conditions and pregnant women, are being advised that if they don’t already have the flu vaccine, it is still not too late to be immunised.
