Proposal to convert Ulster Bank premises in Edgeworthstown into innovation hub

It’s hoped that the Ulster Bank premises in Edgeworthstown could be developed as an innovation hub by the local authority.

The bank is set to close its office in the town on the 8th of September as part of the company’s restructuring, leaving the area with no active banking presence.

At this month’s meeting of Longford Ccounty Council, it was proposed that the building could be acquired by the County Council and renovated to become an innovation and technology hub for entrepreneurs and sstart-upbusinesses

Councillor Paul Ross believes that Edgeworthstown could follow the model being trialed in other Shannonside towns to help people start their own companies
