The OPW has confirmed that is has advertised for the tender to refurbish Ballinasloe Garda Station.
It was initially hoped that the refurb and extension work at the facility in the town would get underway by the middle of this year, but the office of Public Works has confirmed this week that a tender for the project is only now being advertised.
It’s hoped the tendering process will conclude by the end of this month to find a contractor to develop office space at the station, as well as remodel the reception area and improve the current custody arrangements at the station.
In a statement to Shannonside FM, it’s believed the works will take almost nine months to complete.
