The official opening of Lebeen Park Memorial Garden in Aughnacliffe in Longford is taking place today.
The garden commemorates the 1916 Rising and funding was provided by Longford County Council.
The garden features seven flower beds and shrub areas to represent the seven signatories of the proclamation.

A Bog Oak sculpture, a flagpole and a stone inscribed with the Proclamtion are also included as part of the development.
A ceremony to officially open the garden will begin today at half past two by the main car park and all are welcome to attend.
