Longford principal reports no issues with new Leaving Cert marking scheme

The principal of a Longford secondary school says there have been no reports of any problems with a new marking scheme for this year’s leaving cert.

Hundreds of pupils across the Shannoside region are picking up their state exam results this morning at various secondary schools.

This year is the first year that a new marking scheme, of eight grades, rather than the traditional 14 grades, have been used to mark students results.

Aoife Mulrenna principal of Mean Scoil Mhuire in Longford town says so far this morning there has been no issues with the results, or students adding up their points.
