A Longford woman has won an award for her championing of LGBT rights
Colehill native Siona Cahill picked up the LGBT student award at the annual Galas awards which were held in Dublin over the weekend.
The awards were set up by GCN and the National LGBT Federation (NXF) to honour LGBT people and organisations for their contributions to Irish society.

Siona is currently the Vice President for Equality and Citizenship at Union of students Ireland and was a vocal campaigner for marriage equality
