A Longford intercultural leader had called for a measured and calm reaction to the terrorist attacks in Barcelona.
Parvez Butt, who is a member of the Muslim community in Longford, says the people behind the attacks have shown a scant disregard for what Islam teaches in terms of how to interact and respect people of other faiths.
Parvez Butt believes Muslims are being held responsible for the action of a minority who do not the core belief of the religion.
