Longford County Council spent more than €160,000 on works at its halting site in a recent two-year period – even though only two families currently occupy it.
The council has one halting site, which is located at Willow Park, near Longford town.
Details released to Shannonside FM show significant works were carried out on the site in 2015 and 2016, which amounted to nearly €161,000.

There are two bays in the site, which are tenanted by two families – one by a mother, father and some of her children.
The second one is occupied by this family’s daughter, partner and her family.
