A delegation from Longford County Council will meet with Transport Infrastructure Ireland this afternoon.
The aim of the meeting is to lobby for upgrading of the national roads infrastructure in the county.
The N4 project between Longford and Mullingar is likely to be the main topic of discussion once again.
It follows a special event held in Dublin on Tuesday that saw chambers of commerce from several counties make the case for infrastructure upgrade in the midlands and northwest.
A total of eight members of Longford County Council will attend today’s meeting, and other issues such as the resurfacing of the N5 close to Longford town, and works at Majors Well road will also be discussed.
Councillor Seamus Butler says they want to get the N4 project to a stage where the work can be ready to actually begin once funding is approved.
