Longford is becoming part of Dublin commuter belt

House price increases in Longford over the last couple of years are being driven by high prices in Dublin and the fact that people consider the area is an acceptable commuter distance.

That’s according to the author of the latest report from Daft.ie, Ronan Lyons.

The figures from the property website show that Co Longford has the highest residential property [price increase in the country last year at almost 20%.

This was far higher than the increases recorded in Roscommon and Leitrim, and Ronan Lyons says the reason is down to infrastructure, and Dublin houses price.

The property price expert also believes however that the rate of increase in Longford prices can only be sustained for a short time.
