Eight girls guides from the Shannonside region will receive the Trailblazer National Guide Award on Saturday afternoon – Irish Girl Guides’ highest accolade.
The award is made in recognition of successfully completing a series of challenges, including outdoor survival skills and community service.
Five girls from Roscommon and three from Longford will travel to Croke Park on Saturday to receive the award from the Irish Girl Guides president Maureen Murphy.
Joanna Pearman is a leader with Ardagh Girl Guides in Longford.
