Criminality of ‘thugs’ in Longford condemned

It’s been claimed that ‘thugs’ in certain estates in Longford town are making people’s lives a daily misery through persistent criminal behaviour.

The claim was made at the Longford Joint Policing Committee meeting on Monday afternoon, which heard a new joint action plan is to be trialled between Longford County Council and local gardaí.

The pilot program aims to develop a model of enhanced community policing and re-establish a quality of life in certain areas.
