Work on replacing the water mains in Ballymahon is to stop on this Wednesday until after Christmas.
A crew began working in the town to replace up to 3 kilometres of piping in early November after repeated leaks in the system in the town area.
Project Manager Liam Brett says so far a total of 700 metres of piping has been replaced and they have made every effort not to disturb trade at this busy time.
The work began in early November at Diffleys corner and has concentrated on an area at the bridge, just off main street, for the past few weeks.
Liam Brett told Shannonside FM that by using “trenchless technology” and keeping the crew small, he’s happy they have managed to keep the impact on local businesses to a minimum…
