Longford’s much anticipated Aisling Children’s Art Festival will be celebrating its’ 20th anniversary when it kicks off today.
There’ll be lots of surprises and old favourites in store with everything from painting to plays, dancing to hat designing and Halloween antics at venues across the county.
The week long event runs until next Saturday with activities for children taking place in Longford town, Drumlish, Edgeworthstown, Granard, Lanesboro and Ardagh.
One of the highlights of the festival is a Family Open Day in St Michael’s Boys NS on St Mel’s Road in Longford town from 2pm to 5pm today.
Aisling Festival committee member Maria Gray says they’re expecting up to1,000 people to attend the always popular event and she’s keen to reassure anyone thinking of going that all activities are under cover.
