Wreck of sunken cruiser removed from jetty in Carrick-on-Shannon

Waterways Ireland has confirmed that it has removed the wreck of a cruiser which sank in Carrick in Shannon last October.

The vessel, which it’s believed sank following a fire on board, was in the water at the public jetties in Carrick-on-Shannon since the incident.

In a statement to Shannonside FM, it has been confirmed that the vessel has been removed from the river bed of the eastern end of the Waterways Ireland jetties and the previously closed off jetty finger is now accessible again for moorings.
