Vigil takes place at Sligo and Galway hospitals calling for increased investment

A vigil will take place outside Sligo and Galway hospitals this evening calling for increased investment in front line health services.

The ”Still Waiting Health Campaign” arose following last week’s coverage of the plight of people waiting for operations and misleading information on the length of waiting lists.

Sligo and Galway are among seven hospitals where vigils will take place at half past seven to mark the loss of lives due to cutbacks in the health service over the last 20 years.

Spokesperson for the movement which began on facebook, Cyril Brennan says it’s about people on the ground making a stand.
