Slieve Russell manager says tackling norovirus huge challenge

The General Manager of the Slieve Russell Hotel says their recent closure due to the norovirus is one of the biggest challenges of his professional life.

The Ballyconnell hotel reopened to paying guests today following closure on December 19th due to an outbreak of the winter vomiting bug.

When symptoms of the virus were detected in guests and staff, the hotel was forced to carry out a deep clean of all surfaces and furnishings.

The move saw the cancellation of weddings, Christmas guests as well as social and music events throughout the holiday period.
