The newly appointed chief executive of Leitrim County Council has outlined ‘place-making’ as one of his main priorities in his new role.
Lar Power was speaking yesterday as he attended his first meeting of Leitrim County Council after having been appointed to the position in the past few weeks.
Mr Power takes up the position having served previously as director of services at Waterford County Council.
Yesterday was his first day in his new job and he told members he was very happy to be able to attend the monthly meeting and hear of issues in the county.
He says that economic development, support for towns and villages, and improving the tourism product, are all part of place-making, or capitalising on Leitrim’s assets.
