The annual commemoration to Republican John Joe McGirl will take place in Ballinamore today.
McGirl was elected as a Sinn Féin TD for the Sligo-Leitrim constituency in 1957 serving one term.
He was also a member of Leitrim County Council from 1960 until his death in 1988.

The oration will be delivered by Fiachra McGuinness, son of Martin McGuinness.
The parade, headed by the Mountain Road Pipe Band will start from the Square at 8pm.
