Two new Cool Planet champions have been announced for Roscommon and Leitrim.
The initiative, which sees 26 people selected to deliver special courses to groups on climate change, was launched earlier this year, and an Athlone student Claire Lemass was the named as the very first Cool Planet champion.
Farmer Sean Butler has been named as the Roscommon champion and he says that living in the south of the county has made him fully aware of the devastating impact of climate change in recent years:
Leitrim’s Cool planet champion is Italy native Francesca Franzetti who is in Ireland since September and is currently working with the Good Energies Alliance.
She told Shannonside FM she is looking forward to helping people understand the impact of climate change
