Leitrim has recorded the lowest level of planning permissions granted for dwelling units in the country during the second quarter of this year.
According to new statistics from the Central Statistics Office, just four houses or apartments were given the green light in the county in the three months from April to June inclusive.
Nineteen further permissions were granted to other buildings, which can include farm premises; 13 were for extensions and two were for conversions and alterations.
During the same period, Longford had 13 dwelling units given planning permission and Roscommon had 25 granted.
Nationally, planning permission was granted for 3,630 houses, an increase of just over 55 per cent on the same quarter in 2016.
Planning permissions were also granted for 823 apartments countrywide, compared to 801 units in the same three months last year.
