Gardai chase ducks who were “out for the quack” in Carrick this weekend

Gardai in Carrick-on-Shannon were called to deal with an usual traffic problem in the town in the early hours of last Saturday morning.

What’s described on the Sligo /Leitrim garda Facebook page as “a couple of rogue ducks” were walking in the middle of the main road in the town causing the traffic issue.

The garda Facebook site goes on to say that a “brief (and mildly entertaining) chase ensured, and after a lot of ducking and diving, the chase was brought to a safe conclusion.

The report finishes by telling us that the two ducks were placed in custody, (for their own safety) and they were released again safely, off the road, beside the River Shannon.
