Gardai to begin fresh inquiry into disappearance and murder of Patrick Heeran

Gardai in Leitrim have made a fresh appeal for information on missing Leitrim man Patrick Heeran who they now believe was murdered.

The 48-year-old was last seen on CCTV on the 3rd of October 2011, and extensive search waterways and vacant houses, including of 35 acres of forest in Belturbet in County Cavan in 2014 as well have failed to reveal any sign of him of what may have happened to him.

Gardai have upgraded their investigation to murder following what detectives have described as new information gathered from searches as well as national and international enquiries have led gardai to believe Patrick met his death through foul play.
