The father of a Leitrim girl who allegedly has suffered severe ill health effects after receiving the HPV vaccine has demanded a proper investigation into a possible link between the vaccine and any suspected side effects.
Anti-vaccine groups were yesterday accused of using ’emotional terrorism’ by HSE chief Tony O’Brien in their campaign warning about alleged side effects of the anti-cervical cancer vaccine.
Peter Hollidge’s daughter Rebecca has been suffering from fatigue and is forced to use a wheelchair after she became ill in the weeks after reaching the Gardsil vaccine in 2013.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan show, Mr Hollidge explained their opposition to the vaccine has always focused on a lack of research into alleged side effects or the suspicion that it acts as possible trigger for illness in girls who receive it:
