ESB hopeful of restoring power to all homes in the Shannonside region by early lunchtime

The ESB is hopeful of restoring power to dozens of customers in the Shannonside region by lunchtime this afternoon.

Hundreds of homes were left in the dark last night as Storm Elanor swept through the region, causing several roads to be blocked, as well as damage to power lines across Roscommon Longford and Leitrim.

Electricity has been restored to many areas but there are still outages being reported in Rooskey, Mohill, Carrick on Shannon, Drumshamnbo and Arigna.
