The next stage of the planned €500,000 Shannon-Blueway in Leitrim is under way with the arrival of a floating boardwalk at Acres Lake, Drumshanbo.
The new walkway will be built partly on land with a significant section designed to float over the water.
When finished, the boardwalk will make it possible to walk or cycle along a 14km route from Acres Lake, providing linkage with the existing linked walks.
