Cortober in Carrick-on-Shannon should be moved into Leitrim because it’s ignored by Roscommon County Council.
That’s the personal view of the Colm McGrath, the Carrick Chamber of Commerce president, who lives in the area.
The proposal to move part of south Roscommon into Westmeath caused major controversy this year and was ultimately postponed for at least four years.

Being a dual-county town, the area on the west side of the Shannon in Carrick is governed by Roscommon County Council.
Yet Mr McGrath believes it should be under Leitrim County Council’s control.
