Services at Cavan General Hospital are currently not safe.
That’s according to Tony Fitzpatrick of the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation, following the INMO’s lunchtime protest at the hospital today.
Around 100 people took part in today’s lunchtime protest to highlight staffing shortages in the facility.
Tony Fitzpatrick says there over 30 posts at the hospital that need to be filled, and also says that low staffing levels are impacting negatively on the care that patients are receiving.
He says the HSE need to start a pro-active recruitment campaign over the Christmas period – to ensure services at Cavan General are safe.
