« BackGovernment announces latest job creation scheme

Eamon GilmoreThe government’s unveiled a plan to get long-term unemploymed people back to work.

The JobsPlus scheme will see the State pay private companies up to 10 thousand euro for every unemployed worker they hire.

The only conditions are that the new recruit must work 30 hours a week, spread across at least four days.

Tanaiste Eamon Gilmore says the scheme will pay for itself – as social welfare spending will fall if there are fewer people on the Dole.
